Australasian Plant Society

We are a small, specialist plant society, wlcoming anyone interested in growing plants from Australia and New Zealand and the islands that surround them. Our members include people growing Australasian plants in their back gardens, keen enthusiasts, public gardens, nursery owners and head gardeners. The Society aims to encourage the conservation and cultivation of Australasian plants and promote their suitability for the garden, especially now that climate change is widening the range of such plants that can be grown outdoors in the UK. Experienced growers are happy to share their specialist knowledge of these unusual and unique plants through our journal Pentachondra, and in person at our stands at plant fairs. We attend the latter both to promote the Society, and to sell plants propagated by our members, as a way of making what are often rare and hard to come by species and varieties more widely available
