Ottershaw Cacti

Ottershaw Cacti was started in 2014 by Daniel and Joanne Jackson, although Daniel has been growing all kinds of succulents from the age of 11years (1981).  Daniels lifelong passion for succulents, especially cacti has evolved into a family affair with many family members helping at shows and on the nursery in Ottershaw Surrey.  Our love for all succulents has led us to grow over 20,000 plants – Daniel is a particularly keen collector and has 4 National Plant Collections – Astroloba, Haworthia, Gasteria and Aeonium which can all be seen at our nursery in surrey.

Our Nursery encompasses 10 large greenhouses/polytunnels as well as outside growing space, whilst we are a commercial nursery focused on growing plants not open generally to the public, we do have open afternoons throughout the year where you can view our specimen plants and visit our well stocked shop, ask lots of succulent questions and generally get all the help you need to grow beautiful succulents successfully.  We also offer private visits to the nursery for individuals or groups which can be booked via our website or email.

Most of our endeavours are focused on growing plants for sale and creating specimen plant displays at flower shows and plant fairs.  Over the last 11 years of showing we have amassed over 40 RHS Gold medals a record we are extremely proud of.  As a true plantsman Daniel is captivated by propagation and creating new plants always looking for that new and elusive plant that Mother Nature might throw up.  As a result his breeding programme has led us to launch 10 of our own Aeoniums, several of which achieved a place in the Final of RHS Plant of the year competition in 2019 and 2022.
